Subject to a major whole-house renovation, the retained existing side of this home has wood floors, which give way to concrete floors on the new side of the build. Wolf Architects had initially toyed with the idea of having seamless ceilings running across the old and new. However, it was felt that expressing the forms of the roof on the interior ceilings added architectural interest. It also meant the room heights could be as high as possible. The architects worked closely with builder TSP Developments on many aspects of the renovation, the onsite resolution of the highly complex roof and ceilings included.
